Carolina Meadows Community Grants Program

We are so grateful to the Carolina Meadows Community Grants Program for our most recent grant. To date, they have supported the Take and eat Food Pantry to the tune of $41,500 and with such solid efforts to help care for the people of Chatham County.

Farmer Foodshare

We have been in partnership with Farmer Foodshare (FF) since 2009 and receive donations from the Fearrington Farmers Market from April through November. A primary goal of the pantry is to increase the amount of fresh produce available to the clients so this relationship has helped immensely.

For several years, we have been awarded a grant from FF to help stretch our purchasing power using their Pennies on the Pound Market (POP). We take advantage of the POP Market during the winter months when the farmers market is not open and for our monthly morning distribution that takes place prior to the Fearrington Farmers Market. Our morning clients, who tend to be mostly seniors, haven’t been able to receive as much fresh produce as those who visit the pantry during the evening distributions.
