There are several ways you can support the Take and Eat Food Pantry. The pantry is an all-volunteer organization, with the exception of one part-time staff person, that receives all of its funding from private donations and grant awards.
Volunteers help in the following areas:
  • Shopping for food at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina on a monthly basis
  • Stocking purchased food
  • Packing food for distribution
  • Loading groceries into clients' vehicles
  • Greeting clients
  • Collecting donated produce from local farmers market
  • Collecting donated food items from local retailers
  • Assisting with special events
  • Organizing food drives or fund raisers
  • Sending thank you notes

The Volunteer Registration Form can be found at the bottom of this page. Please call 919-533-9330 to schedule a good time to volunteer, complete form, and bring it with you on your first visit.

Financial contributions are always welcome. Checks can be made out to Evergreen United Methodist Church with "Food pantry" written on the memo line and mailed to 11098 US 15 501 N, Chapel Hill, NC 27517-6009.
